How did you both meet?
We met through Mel’s family. We had known each other for a while before we started dating.
How did he pop the question?
Troy had both of the boys with him when he proposed. It was very low-key, so much so that he threw the box with the ring at me but it was a yes straight away.
What type of wedding did you plan, what was your theme?
I liked the idea of a rustic wedding theme and loved the colour blue so I used those two themes as my inspiration.
Which quirky features made your wedding unique?
I crocheted 440 crochet coasters as wedding favours which was a bit different but I loved the idea of having something hand made to give our guests.
Where did you hold the ceremony?
The ceremony was held at Stuart Park. We were so lucky, the weather just held out for the ceremony.
Why did you choose City Beach?
We wanted somewhere that had water views and hadn’t originally even considered Wollongong as we were from Shellharbour and wanted something close by but City Beach provided such an inclusive package and stunning location that we couldn’t resist.
What was the most memorable moment from the day?
There were so many but I think sitting back in the limo on our way to get photos taken at the Botanical Gardens and realising that we had done it, we were married. Close second would be the first dance.
What was it like dealing with Wedding Coordinator, Leanne & Amy?
Both Leanne and Amy are incredibly patient and always happy to help. I was so grateful for how patient Amy was with me towards the end when time was running out and there were a million changes to our seating plan (well it felt like that at the time J)
What’s your No.1 go to song that had to be included in your playlist?
I had all these ideas for songs and was going to create a playlist but decided to just let the DJ run with it and I was glad I did. Really the ones that stood out for me were the old favourites, like the Nutbush. So many of our guests were up dancing for those and having a great time across all ages.
Who was your photographer for the day?
We used Xtraordinary Photos & Video for our photography and they were brilliant. We were so happy with our photos.
Any advice for couples about to tie the knot?
Everyone says it but really try and take a moment to enjoy the day and try not to worry about the small stuff. The day just flies by so quickly and it’s over before you know it. I was so worried about tiny little details that honestly I hardly noticed on the day!
