How did you both meet?

Peter and I both work in the same company and met one day at work in 2013. From there on our friendship and love for each other developed into soul mates and lead to this day we got to marry each other and spend the rest of our lives together.

How did he pop the question?

A beautiful sunny Saturday in June we decided to head down south for lunch at Scarborough hotel, what a beautiful view and lunch it was. After lunch we heading to Wattamolla in the National Park, where we climbed to the top of the waterfall and sat down cuddling  up to each other looking out to the ocean thinking “life couldn’t get any better than this”.  As it got closer to sunset we got up to start making our way off the waterfall, until Peter grabbed my hand and spun me around to see him bending down on one knee with a box in his trembling hands. He proceed to say “I love you so much and want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?”. As the tears were rolling down my cheeks I said “Yes of course”.

What type of wedding did you plan, what was your theme?

We wanted our wedding to be simple, elegant, stunning but not over the top. As we are beach people we chose a lot of aqua/ turquoise and white colours throughout the day. We wanted a relaxing wedding with our close family and friends.

Which quirky features made your wedding unique?

We organized a hashtag printer which had our personalized hashtag directly from Instagram for the day/night. We had a guest book for our guest to stick their pictures in and leave a special message for us to. All our guests loved the idea and was a great way for us to look back on the memorable photos and times that our guest had at our wedding.

The Love sign that was illuminating the dance floor all night long gave our reception unique look and was great for photos. We organized personalized chocolates for each guest as place cards and was also bombonieres for our guest.

Where did you hold the ceremony?

We held our ceremony at Panorama House, Bulli Tops with the ocean behind the gazebo and   picturesque views over Wollongong city.

Why did you choose City Beach?

When looking around at different reception venues City Beach stood out for us for the amazing location, food, private balcony which gave our guests more space to hang and chill out, the views of the lighthouse and ocean from the room were wonderful. Absolutely loved the ocean room as soon as we walked in for the open day, was very spacious and bright inside even on cloudy days. The tall ceilings and glass windows from floor to ceilings took our breath away. All the staff members were very friendly and helpful which made us feel more comfortable and relaxed for our special day.

What was the most memorable moment from the day?

It’s hard to pick a memorable moment from our day, as it was all memorable from the moment of getting ready, the ceremony, bridal party photos, announcing husband and wife into the room with all our friends and family watching and seeing the setup of our amazing room as we entered. There was lot of dancing, laughing and tears throughout the day/night. My Father Daughter dance was a very memorable time and wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

Peter and I took a couple of moments together during the day/night standing back and taking it all in and watching around the room at our guests enjoying themselves on the dancefloor and laughing. One of the moments that did stand out for us was when the photographer made us stand out in the pouring rain to get the amazing shot.

We were both so nervous for our first dance together but when we got up on the dancefloor all the lights were dimmed and it just felt like there was us two in the room. One stage I looked up at the fairy lights on the ceiling making it all magical.

What was it like dealing with Wedding Coordinators, Leanne & Amy?

Leanne and Amy were very friendly and helpful to make our day as magical as it was. The whole City Beach team is wonderful and making everything on our day run smoothly. Compliments to the chef as the food was delicious and was presented wonderfully.

What’s your No.1 go to song that had to be included in your playlist?

There was a wide range of songs, but the ones that stood out for us and our guests was Rocky Horror show – Timewarp, LMFAO – I’m Sexy and I Know it, Grease Lightning and Macarena got everyone up on the dancefloor.

Who was your photographer for the day?

Our amazing photographer for the day/night was Dave Brown – Zest Images photographer.

Any advice for couples about to tie the knot?

Support each other through the whole planning of the wedding but remember to still have fun and take it all in. Throughout the night take your husband aside and stand back to look around the room at all your family and friends dancing, laughing and having fun to remember your special day. It’s true what every couple say your special day does go fast.

Peter and I had the best time on our wedding day and we loved planning our wedding and making our dreams come true.
