How did you both meet? We were introduced to each other in 2009 through a mutual friend who was Andrew’s best friend in high school and also worked with Simone. At first, we started chatting online before meeting up in person a few months later.
How did he pop the question? On Christmas eve in 2013, we were spending a quiet night in at home with my family when Andrew popped the question.
What type of wedding did you plan, what was your theme? We wanted something simple and elegant without sticking to a strict theme. We were inspired by nature and the beautiful setting around us so we went with lots of florals/greenery as well as having lots of candles and fairy lights to achieve a rustic and romantic kind of feel.
Which quirky features made your wedding unique? Simone arriving to the ceremony in her pink Nissan Micra, as well as little details like Andrew’s red velvet blazer and Simone’s flower crown.
Where did you hold the ceremony? The cannons at Flagstaff Hill
Why did you choose City Beach? From our first moment at City Beach, we knew we found something special. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful every step of the way, the food was fantastic and the intimacy of the Ocean Room was exactly what we were looking for. Not to mention that stunning view!
What was the most memorable moment from the day? After the ceremony, walking down the aisle as husband and wife!
What was it like dealing with Wedding Coordinator Melissa? Melissa has been amazing to work with, friendly, organised and no ask was too big. She made the lead-up to the big day as stress free as possible!
What’s your No.1 go to song that had to be included in your playlist? “Like Real People Do” by Hozier which we chose to dance to for our bridal waltz.
Who was your photographer for the day? James Rose – Rose Photos
Any advice for couples about to tie the knot? The best advice we can give to couples about to tie the knot is to focus on your vision without getting too stuck on the details. If you go with the flow, you’ll be less likely to get upset if something doesn’t go exactly the way you expected. Also, do what will make you happy because at the end of the day, it’s your day and about two people celebrating their love and commitment to each other.
